Camping Details
As one of WA's premier holiday destinations, accommodation around New Year in the South West can often be difficult to secure. We recommend you arrange your accommodation as soon as possible, or snap up one of the camping tickets. The Busselton Visitor Centre has information regarding accomodation.
Southbound is proud to be WA's own music, camping and arts festival. We think that camping is the best way to experience all that the festival offers and we really encourage you to get into the festival vibe.
Here's the deal with camping:
• First of all, unless you are accompanied by your parent YOU MUST BE 18+ TO CAMP (sorry U18 crew - but you can still come to the festival).
• Children must be accompanied at all times by their parents in the camping area and in the licensed camping entertainment area.
• If you're U18 and found to be not accompanied by your parent , then you could all be EVICTED from the festival.
• If you are U18 and arrive at the camping gate without your parent, you will not be allowed entry to the festival and we will not refund your ticket.
• NO ALCOHOL is permitted in the campgrounds. Eskis are welcome but leave your alcohol at home otherwise it will be confiscated at the gate. This is an important security measure.
• No metal hammers or mallets (plastic ones are ok). If you need assistance, Camp Wardens will be on hand to bang in your tent pegs.
• The Festival's main camp grounds are located on the grassed fields right next to the concert site at Bovell Park and on the neighbouring farm.
• A Happy Camper or Pampered Camper ticket entitles you to camp for 2 nights - Friday 2nd January, and Saturday 3rd January 2009.
• A Pampered Camper ticket entitles you to access to an exclusive camping area which includes your own pre-erected tent and other luxuries. For more details see the Pampered Camper section.
• The parking area and the camp grounds open at 9.00am, Friday 2nd January. The parking area closes at 10pm on Friday 2nd January and opens again at 9am on Saturday 3rd January. Please do not arrive outside these times as you will be turned away.
• Check out time for the camp grounds on Sunday 4th January is 10.00am.
• The Base Camp area opens at 11.00am on Friday 2nd January, for more info, click here.
• Camping tickets are per person, not per campsite. In other words, each person who intends camping in your group MUST have their own camping ticket.
• Vehicles are not allowed in the camp grounds - TENTS ONLY. Do not try and camp in your car as you will be removed and receive a hefty fine.
• Make sure you bring in everything you need, as there is strictly no access to your vehicle once you enter the campsite until you leave.
• Toilet and shower facilities will be provided.
• EXCESSIVE NOISE OR UNRULY BEHAVIOUR IN THE CAMPSITE IS DISRESPECTFUL TOWARDS OTHER CAMPERS AND WILL NOT BE TOLERATED, AND MAY LEAD TO EVICTION FROM THE CAMPSITE AND THE FESTIVAL.
