ONE MOVEMENT FOR MUSIC PERTH TURNS IT UP A NOTCH!

One Movement for Music Perth (OMFM) is shaping up to be one of the most important music events in the
Southern Hemisphere this October. A pioneering music industry conference and showcasing event for the
Asia Pacific Region, OMFM is proud to unveil the second round of speakers and showcasing artists for this
groundbreaking event to be held October 16-18.

This brings the number of global speakers to 46 across two conference streams and the number of showcase acts for
the One Movement Showcase Music Festival to 35. And there are still many more to be announced in the weeks
ahead.

MUSEXPO ASIA PACIFIC – Held At The Parmelia Hilton Hotel


OMFM is proud to announce some of the music industry’s biggest movers and shakers will be taking the floor for
MUSEXPO Asia Pacific at One Movement For Music Perth, including Korda Marshall (President of the UK’s legendary
Infectious Records), Jeff Craib (Senior Vice President of Canada’s leading full service agency SL Feldman and
Associates), Markus Ku¨hn (Managing Director for Germany’s iconic MotorFM), Vijay Nair (Founder of India’s Only
Much Louder) plus many of Australia, Asia and the world’s leading music industry experts.

They join, among others, Diane Warren (international hit-maker extraordinaire and Founder of publisher Real Songs)
and Dave Holmes (Coldplay’s worldwide manager and founder of 3D Artist Management) for their first major
speaking engagements in the Asia Pacific region, plus many more.

Tackling issues such as the ever-evolving digital industry, the growth of the Asian and Pacific Rim markets, music and
visual media plus contemporary publishing, MUSEXPO Asia Pacific is the forum for the leaders of the future. A full

Independent music is today the heartbeat of the music industry. In this essential program, co-presented by the
Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR), industry experts will tackle subjects such as potential indie
markets in Asia, the changes in media, digital myths, the growth of live music, licensing and more.

ONE MOVEMENT SHOWCASE MUSIC FESTIVAL ARTISTS
As the live music component of the event, the One Movement Showcase Music Festival is unlike any festival the
Southern Hemisphere has ever experienced with 80 artists playing unique 30-minute showcase sets, premiering their
latest material to industry and fans alike in a full outdoor festival setting over two days at Perth Esplanade.

UK pop sensation Frankmusik, the ever-sensational Sarah Blasko, Australian great Whitley and Singapore superstars
Electrico are among the greats that join already announced acts such as Hilltop Hoods, Kate Miller-Heidke, Little
Red, Meiko, Blue King Brown and many more.

New artists announced today who will be showcasing new music at the One Movement Showcase Music Festival are:

Tickets for the showcasing One Movement for Music Festival are on sale now.
Single day tickets are only $66 + booking fee or $99 + booking fee for the entire weekend – that’s 80 acts for

MUSEXPO ASIA PACIFIC

Korda Marshall (UK - President, Infectious Records) – Marshall originally launched Infectious Records in 1993 where
he enjoyed huge international success with signings such as Muse, Garbage and Ash, among others. He comes to
OMFM having just re-launched Infectious (with signings such as The Temper Trap and General Fiasco).  

Jeff Craib (Canada - Sr. Vice President, SL Feldman and Associates) – Craib has travelled globally as part of his
position at Canada’s leading full service agency. But it’s his role in developing Canadian talent for which he is most
passionate. His key clients include The Tragically Hip and Nelly Furtado.

Markus Ku¨hn (Germany - MD, MotorFM) – Ku¨hn co-founded m2m (medien.marken.musik) in 2001. As m2m’s marketing
and media consultant he plans and implements cross-medial marketing and promotion campaigns for artists and
labels. m2m is also the major shareholder of Motor FM, which he founded in 2004. Ku¨hn makes his first speaking
engagement in the Asia Pacific.

Vijay Nair (India - Founder, Only Much Louder) – Nair founded Only Much Louder in 2002, the first artist management
company for indie bands in India. He won the prestigious British Council International Young Music Entrepreneur of
the Year award in 2009, making him the first Indian to achieve this feat.

Ed St John (Aust - Chairman, ARIA and President/CEO, Warner Music Australasia) – St John started off as a music
journalist and soon moved into record companies, eventually becoming the head of Warner Music Australasia in 2005.
Ian James (Aust – Managing Director, Mushroom Music Publishing) – James has been the MD of Mushroom Music
Publishing for the past 22 years – Australia’s largest independent music publisher. He is also the Deputy Chairman of
Australasian Performing Rights Association and Chairman of the Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society.

Oum Pradutt (India - Managing Director, Phase1 Events) – Pradutt is based in Bangalore, where he heads up Phase1
Events – a company that specialises in bringing international rock acts to India. 

Jitin Abraham (India - President, 21 Tigers) – 21 Tigers is a multi-faceted company based in Mumbai that focuses on
live events, online marketing and digital strategies as well as developing visual content for the music market in India.
This is Abraham’s first speaking engagement in Australia.

Carel Hoffman (Sth Africa – Founder, Oppikoppi) - Hoffman is one of the founders of the OppiKoppi Festival, which
has been running for 15 years in South Africa and reaches 400,000 people on an annual basis.

Dean Buchanan (Aust - Group Program Director, DMG Radio) – Since launching Nova 969 in Sydney in 2001,
Buchannan has overseen the birth of the Nova Network nationwide. He is a director of DMG Radio Pty Ltd,
Chairperson of the ACRA’s and his passion for Australian music saw him invited onto the AMPCOM committee.

Iain Shedden (Aust - Music Writer, The Australian) – Shedden is music writer and critic for the Australian and the
Weekend Australian newspapers and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his coverage of all aspects of
the music industry.

Tim Prescott (Aust - CEO, Albert Music) – Prescott is CEO of Albert Music, Australia’s oldest and most successful
independent music company. 

Ashley Sellers (Aust - CEO, Inertia) – After starting his career in the UK and then moving to Australia to work for MDS,
Sellers started Inertia in 2000 followed by Civil Society in 2006.
Myke Brown (Thailand – Manager, Tata Young Management) – Brown manages Tata Young, one of South East Asia’s
biggest stars of the last decade.

THE INDEPENDENT TIMES

Lars Brandle (Aust - writer, Billboard) – A former musician, Brandle has broadcast interviews with CNN and the BBC,
amongst others. After nearly 12 years living in London, Brandle returned to Brisbane in 2008 as the Billboard’s
Australian correspondent.
 
Steve McClure (Japan – freelance journalist) – McClure is a Tokyo-based freelance journalist and broadcaster. Until
2008 he was Billboard Magazine’s Asia Bureau Chief, and now publishes McClure’s Asia Music News.

Jerry Soer (Aust – band manager/blogger) – In 2006 Soer co-founded Who The Bloody Hell Are They?, a music blog
that aims to catalog the Australian music scene. He also manages artists such as Miami Horror, Young and Restless,
Parades, Cassian, Beaufort and Ooh-Ee.

Jerry Francis (Malaysia – DJ and Promoter, Jungle Jerry) With a DJ career that spans more than ten years, Jungle
Jerry has achieved the distinction of being the ‘Maestro of Mix’ within Malaysia’s Club scene.

Philip Stevens (Aust – Founder Philip Stevens Management/Co-Founder Jarrah Records) – Stevens established Jarrah
Records in 2002 with John Bulter and The Waifs and has been managing the label and overseeing all label duties ever
since. He also manages both the aforementioned acts under Phil Stevens Management.

Sebastian Chase (Aust – Founder and CEO, MGM Distribution), MGM is one of Australia’s largest and most successful
independent distribution companies.

Lawrence English – (Aust – Director, room40) room40 is a multi-arts organisation and label based in Australia.
Ken Bieber (Japan – President/CEO, On the One and PonyUp Records) – Since taking the helm at On the One in 2006,
Bieber has overseen the company’s maturation into a prominent indie promoter, record label (PonyUp Records), and
market-research firm (Tokyo Undersound). 

Shin Fukazumi (Japan –A&R, P-Vine Records) – Fukazumi currently works as an A&R at P-Vine Records, the largest
and longest running independent label in Japan.

Nick Crocker (Aust – Founder, Native Digital) – Native Digital is a digital innovation company. Native created globally
recognised web properties We Are Hunted and The In Sound From Way Out and has worked with some of Australia’s
leading companies including EMI, Virgin Mobile and NAB.  

Brett Murrihy (Aust – Senior Booking Agent, The Harbour Agency) – With over ten-years experience Murrihy works
with some of Australia’s key artists including Empire Of The Sun, Paul Kelly, Evermore, The Temper Trap, Operator
Please, Thirsty Merc, Faker and The Panics.

Alexis Kwong Alvarez (Hong Kong - Founder, AMUSE) – AMUSE focuses on linking brands and the entertainment world
together and their clients include US based Burns Entertainment & Sports Marketing, Comic Relief Hong Kong,
Omnifone’s MusicStation, Time Out Hong Kong, Elle Merchandising, Tiret New York, WIDEawake Entertainment and
Tenth Street Entertainment.

ONE MOVEMENT SHOWCASE MUSIC FESTIVAL ARTISTS

Frankmusik (UK) – With his razor-sharp cheekbones, zigzag undercut and bag full of sparkling musical moments,
Frankmusik is pop’s new leading man. The UK sensation debuts his brand new album, Complete Me, in Australia at
the One Movement Showcase Music Festival.

Sarah Blasko (Aust) – Sarah Blasko’s third album – As Day Follows Night – takes the listener on an almost timeless
journey to an alluring, yet mysterious destination. An artist never content with repetition, hers is a body of work that
displays progression over tangents. Blasko is undoubtedly one of Australia’s finest.

Whitley (Aust) – After an extended 18 months of touring around Australia and the world, Whitley has returned home
to record the follow up to his widely acclaimed debut, The Submarine. Due out in October, he will debut music from
Go Forth Find Mammoth at the One Movement Showcase Music Festival.
 
Electrico (Singapore) – One of Asia’s seminal purveyors of indie rock, Electrico have established themselves at the
forefront of the Asian alternative scene with their eclectic blend of melodic rock that has won thousands of fans
across the region.

Miami Horror live (Aust) – Most will know Miami Horror from their killer remixes for the likes of Pnau, Bloc Party,
Stardust, The Presets, Datarock and Midnight Juggernauts, which sent the blogosphere into a frenzy during 2008. Be
the first to hear the new album live at the One Movement Showcase Music Festival.

Art vs Science (Aust) – Three months after forming Art vs Science took out Triple J Unearthed competition off the
back of the impossibly catchy track Flippers. They have since honed their sound– part pop, part French electro, with
a healthy infusion of rock – of which will manifest in a debut album later this year...just in time for One Movement.

Midnight Youth (NZ) – Midnight Youth formed in 2006 and were immediately ones to watch. Their first release was
the #1 most played NZ song on radio, and for more than 15 weeks held a spot in Top 10 radio chart. The next two
singles from The Letter were just as successful. Now they are ready to take on the world.

Infusion (Aust) – Australian trio Infusion have been plumbing the depths of historical music and plundering the annals
of electronic music royalty to make truly futuristic transcendental dance for nigh on a decade now. And the band will
be showcasing their new album, All Night Sun Light, at the One Movement Showcase Music Festival.

Dan Sultan (Aust) – Dan Sultan is an extraordinarily talented musician. His debut album, Homemade Biscuits, a
collaboration with Scott Wilson, was released independently in 2006 to rave reviews. Sultan’s career is set to explode
thanks to his much-anticipated and yet unnamed second album to be debut at One Movement.

Harlequin League (Aust) – Thanks to their late 2008 debut EP We Used To Be Gods, Now We’re So Plain Harlequin
League achieved the honour of an Unearthed J Award nomination and a Triple J Next Crop nod. Catch them debuting
material from their forthcoming album at the One Movement Showcase Music Festival.

John Steel Singers (Aust) – The Brisjanglian’s catchy blend of pop has seen them become firm Triple J favourites.
The John Steel Singers: In Colour takes the band beyond where they had been before – all the way to One Movement.

Dallas Frasca (Aust) – It’s no surprise that Not For Love Or Money, the debut album by Aussie roots/rock powerhouse
Dallas Frasca, has a sense of exhilaration and dynamics throughout. It truly cuts a blue line through rock, roots,
blues, soul and pop.

One Buck Short (Malaysia) – This foursome’s love for so cal punk has propelled them into one of the leading rock
acts in South East Asia. With a bucket of awards to their name, One Buck Short finally bring their hit sound to
Australia, and the rest of the world.

Sorgente (Germany) – Sorgente is the German band you need to know. It may be early days, but the fact that a
German camera crew will be chasing them around at the One Movement Music Festival is testament to their dramatic
rise on the indie scene.

Snob Scrilla (Aust) – Snob Scrilla’s debut album, Day One, was released in April this year through Ivy League Records
and has already spawned the unstoppable singles Heartbreak Scorsese and ...(The Song With No Title). Witness the
rise of Snob Scrilla.

Kill Devil Hills (Aust) – This multi-award-winning group has spent the best part of 2009 completing their third album,
Man, You Should Explode to be released nationally in September and showcased at One Movement.

Vents (Aust) - Vents is a talented solo hip hop artist hailing from Adelaide. Having been a solid figure in the
underground Oz hip hop scene for many years, the time has come for Vents’ onslaught to begin. Hear brand new
material at OMFM. 

Felicity Groom & The Black Black Smoke (Aust) – Something special has been boiling away in Perth...and that
something is Felicity Groom & The Black Black Smoke. Experience the magic.

Capital City (Aust) - Capital City are Western Australia’s favourite exponents of scuzz-rock rhythm and blues. The
forthcoming album is due out just in time to be debuted at One Movement.

Jackson Firebird (Aust) - Jackson Firebird, finding their way to OMFM via Adelaide’s Fuse Festival, are an explosive
two-piece Aussie Rock outfit spawned from the small country town of Mildura, Northern Victoria. They have a
winning trifecta at their disposal: an original Aussie garage rock sound, head-nodding, toe-tapping songs and a
pumping, hard-hitting live show.

Grand Atlantic (Aust) - Thanks to the support of the Queensland Government, pop act Grand Atlantic will be making
their way West. The follow-up to their acclaimed debut album is the enthralling and mysterious How We Survive,
which displays the band’s cohesive and fully formed power pop vision.

26 (Aust) – Thanks to the support of the Queensland Government, rock band 26 will be giving us a taste of their
brand new album, Births, Deaths & Marriages.
