An original mix of 70s rock’n’soul funk, magical groove and a sharp sense of rowdy rhythm, The Inspector Cluzo are a two-piece French band formed in 2008 by two crazy Frenchmen – Laurent Lacrouts (guitar/vocals) and Mathieu Jourdain (drums). Supporting Suicidal Tendencies and Infectious Grooves on their respective European tours only weeks after forming, the duo jumped straight into the deep end of the international live scene last year and have swiftly developed a formidable reputation as main players on the global festival circuit. Led Zep-esque guitar blasting over funk soul grooves interspersed with everything from Jackson five-type vocals through to guttural growls, an Inspector Cluzo stage show is a wild incarnation of two-piece anarchy. Their debut self-titled album is out now and features first single F**k The Bass Player, a tongue-in-cheek rollicking slice of funked out rock, or rocked out funk – you decide.
